Megan & Juan | Fort Monroe, VA Engagement

This adorable couple is getting married June next year and I can’t wait!  Megan and Juan are located in Northern VA, but will be getting married in the Hampton Roads area.  They’re having a nautical themed wedding so Fort Monroe was a perfect backdrop for beach photos plus other variety in backgrounds for their session!  Before our session, Megan had told me that Juan used the assistance of their two pups, Bailey and Reese, to propose and asked if they could include them in their engagement photos.  Um, YES!!  Their dogs were so cute and I may have borrowed some chicken jerky treats from my dog as bribery for some of the photos, hah.

Did I mention 6:00 AM was our start time?  That’s early!!!  And it was MY suggestion, doh!  Usually I shoot in the evenings, but the weather was calling for 90+ degree temps all week!  Megan and Juan were champs to trust me on this one and I’m so grateful they did.  With the temperature at a perfect temp of low 70s that early in the morning, we were set.  Not only that, but we didn’t have to worry about harsh shadows or squinting from the lack of shade on the beach.  These two made waking up at 4:30 am worth it though!  I loved our sunrise session!
