Today’s post is about a PCHS Senior graduate from 2020! Although Peninsula Catholic High School had about 77 graduating seniors last year, there were 21 in attendance for their socially distanced graduation ceremony that took place at the end of July. Graduation looked vastly different for all seniors nationwide due to the global pandemic.
Jack Wartell, a PCHS senior graduate, stood proudly in front of his high school building for the start of his senior session last spring. We captured photos in his cap and gown before moving on to Christopher Newport University where he would begin his first year of college in the fall. He had received 8 out of 10 acceptance letters for college(!!), but ultimately selected CNU as they offered the most generous scholarship plus it’s close to home.
It’s been nearly a year since these images were taken and I asked his mom, Tammy, for an update on how he’s doing. She informed me that he worked all summer fixing computers and making computer models for games for his job. He’s doing well at CNU and just submitted a grant to have some transcriptions featured in a book! He’s majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Leadership Studies. Go Jack!!!
