Amanda and AJ didn’t let covid-19 derail their plans to marry. They may have had to postpone their original date, but July 18th, 2020 arrived and nothing was stopping them now! Their closest family and friends surrounded them to celebrate their special day. The Commanding General’s Residence and Garden located at Fort Monroe in Hampton was the perfect backdrop for such a beautiful day.
I loved that Amanda created all the paper flower decorations plus the bouquets! I told her she needed to start a shop on Etsy, so creative!! Oh and PS – I’d be remiss if I didn’t share how unbelievably DELICIOUS the food was by Chef by Design Catering Co.!!
Here’s Amanda and AJ’s story in their words:
We met when we were stationed together with the Coast Guard and became friends and then started dating. We had planned a weekend getaway in early November with Pack Up + Go, where we wouldn’t know where we were going until the last minute. Unbeknownst to Amanda, AJ had bought a ring and had been carrying it around for 2-3 weeks waiting for the right time and place. Our weekend getaway took us to Boston and in the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, she decided it was the right place and time to ask, while we were taking a break from walking and the cold.
Their favorite things to do together:
Play with our 4 cats, museums, hunt a killer games/escape rooms
What Amanda loves about AJ: her caring nature
What AJ loves about Amanda: her laugh
They plan to honeymoon in Disney World once things settle down with travel and everything opening up again.
Congratulations to Amanda and AJ!! Thank you for allowing me to capture this chapter in your lives!
An incredible THANK YOU to the vendors that made their day possible ~
