Mateo | First Birthday Cake Smash

Mateo turned ONE YEAR OLD this month so his mama wanted to do a cake smash session with a few family photos thrown in.  This little guy was all smiles and really enjoyed his cake!  We would have had balloons, BUT………I offered to carry their heavy wood crate with the balloons tied to it along with my awkward camera bag and camera wrapped around me and…. you see where this is going?  We got to the spot we were going to shoot and I noticed the balloons were no longer tied to the crate, but instead 100 feet in the air.  My husband would say, ‘No good deed goes unpunished.’ Ugh.  Not my proudest moment and definitely a first for me!  I still feel so terrible about it, but this cutie stole the show and I think it all worked out in the end!  Mateo’s brother and sister had been trying to steal some frosting before we shot these, so I bet they were super excited that Mateo had plenty left over to share with them after we were done with photos.  😛
