Hello and welcome to the AC Blog!! I began my photography business in 2007, so yes, I’m a little behind the times with this blog thing. It only took me 10 years…. All this social media stuff seemed overwhelming and confusing so it was easier for me to just not do it, hah. Now I know how my mom must have felt when my brothers and I teased her for not being able to figure out how to play Nintendo back in the 80’s. I’m all in now though so bear with me as I’m sure it’s going to be a bumpy start! My hope is that this blog will now hold me accountable for being more consistent and purposeful with my business.
For those who don’t know me, I’m Alanna – (Hi! Nice to meet you!) – I have 2 fiercely independent and hilarious little human beings, a supportive and encouraging hubby and a 100 lb black lab (do they have weight watchers for dogs?). I worked for 3 years in a cubicle farm after college and just knew it was not my calling. Together with my sister-in-law, Nina Lee, we opened our doors in 2007 as Waterside Photography. Within the first couple years, our business exploded by word of mouth and we shot close to 50 weddings. Life happened and Nina had to move out of state and my husband and I began our family. I minimized the amount of weddings I took on and instead expanded into other areas of photography by shooting hundreds of portrait sessions and countless homes! Now that my babies are not babies so much anymore (waaaaahh!!!) I am excited to be able to pick up more weddings again!
My photography skills and editing style have evolved into a brand that is more me, so I wanted a new identity for my business to showcase this change. Deciding the name wasn’t too much of a challenge.. first I knew I wanted people to associate ME with my business. Second, I know no one can correctly pronounce or let alone, spell my last name to even find me on the internet, so that ruled out ‘LoGioco’! My first and middle name seemed the next best option. So Alanna Catherine Photography was born!!
I am beyond grateful for the ability to do what I do and excited to see where this path continues to lead me. I would love for you to be a part of this journey too!
~Alanna
